WRJ is a caring family of women bonding together.
It is a place where women of all ages can come together and grow; where there is mutual support of one another; where we can learn about Judaism and about becoming a caring community to help repair a hurting world.
WRJ serves the Temple.
We contribute toward the religious school and childhood programs, and we send holiday gift packets to our college students. We assist with the Oneg Shabbat, and run a Judaica Shop. We enrich festival observances: Chanukah Dinner, Purim goodies, Passover Women’s Seder and many more.
WRJ reaches out to the larger community.
We have a hugely successful Geriatric Luncheon, serving several local nursing homes and provide holiday gifts for children at local hospitals as well as participating in the Adopt-A-Survivor program.
WRJ provides support and programs for learning.
We have formal and informal book discussions and reviews. We offer a wide variety of activities such as bridge lessons and defensive driving as well as lectures on important social issues.
WRJ is a collective voice that carries weight.
Each woman is important as an individual, but as Women of Reform Judaism, we are even stronger and our presence can be felt in many areas. We have marched together, we have lobbied together, and the results have been impressive. We belong to the National and Worldwide WRJ Organization that is over 80,000 women strong and has members in the US, Canada, Israel, Australia and South Africa.
WRJ needs you and you need WRJ!
We are constantly striving to include all of the women in our congregation. We live in a "high tech-no touch" world. There must be a touching of hands, a caring support network and a feeling of belonging. Paying your membership dues is a "show of hands" for all the projects and programs we support.
We extend our hands to you and hope you will join us.
Please feel free to call us with your questions and join us at the WRJ meetings.
