Megillah Reading and Purim Spiel March 23

We will be celebrating Purim on Wednesday, March 23rd with much joy and celebration! It is the most fun-filled, action-packed day of the Jewish year and commemorates the miraculous salvation of the Jewish people more than two thousand years ago!

We celebrate by listening to the reading of the Megillah (the Purim story), giving to the needy, and having fun! On Purim, we dress in costumes and sing Purim songs. This year we will also rejoice by presenting a Purim “Spiel” or Purim play telling the story in a creative way. The spiel will be a parody based on Star Wars and we want YOU to be in it!!

There are numerous parts and the good news is that there is only one rehearsal and you do not have to memorize your part! Rehearsal will take place on Wednesday, March 16th at 7:00 p.m.

Please call the Temple office at 621-8049 by March 1st to confirm your interest and volunteer for a part.
