Selichot-The Opening of the High Holy Days Saturday, September 20

SELICHOT

The opening of the High Holy Days

Saturday, September 20th

As always, this evening is one of spiritual contemplation and reflection.  Selichot refers to the penitential prayers that are sung and spoken during this special service.  In addition, this year we have chosen to add an event which we hope will deepen your overall experience of cheshbon hanefesh, reviewing of the soul: we will be showing the new documentary,

“A Guided Tour of the Holocaust Resource Center.”* Following the movie, we will hear from Mr. Irving Roth, who will share with us all of the important Holocaust instruction currently being taught and the work that still needs to be done in the future.  Temple Judea is still the only synagogue in the world with a full-time, active Holocaust Resource Center.
