The Long Journey to Freedom:
From Poland to Shanghai to America
Susan, wife of our Rabbi Emeritus of blessed memory, Eugene Lipsey z”l, will share the story of her remarkable childhood. Susan and her family emigrated from Poland to Shanghai in the early 1940’s and lived for a few years within the Shanghai Ghetto with about 23,000 other Jews. I know you will enjoy learning about this little known part of Jewish history.
Plus, Susan’s life story carries with it an invaluable lesson about freedom that is also a central message of Passover.
Services will also include singing from our Adult Volunteer Choir
As the holiday of Passover will be ending just as our Shabbat services end, we invite you join us for a bread themed dinner of
